Acknowledge.
Rising early, I wash and dress and go directly to the Sisters' [chapel]. There, one of the sisters directs me to Sister [Kharitania]. She is skeptical at my offer to work for her -- she finds the capsuleer life offensive because some of us kill, whilst her work, and her sisters', is to preserve life. There is a distress beacon which she wishes investigated. I agree to help, and get to my [faithful] Cormorant.
At the first stargate, back into Genesis sector, I see her point :: the Void is [a-throng] with ships, and, worse, with pods -- they are obviously having combat parctice. In all, it takes 2 jumps to reach the right system. I track the beacon, and warp in at range, just in case. The Void here is [littered] with the corpses of brave ships. My target is (or was a Minmatar battleship. I am approaching it, when I get a message that I have done enough, and to report back at once. I head for the nearest station and do so. The Sister is good enough to pay me a bonus of 18 thousand isk to my generous agreed stipend of 100K.
She also asks me to visit a CONCORD agent, to see if he has information. [Fortuitously] the man is [adjacent]; suprisingly, he has a mission for me. He also comms Sister [Kharitania] and my stipend for contacting him is paid, together with another bonus (of 9 thousand). The CONCORD officer has heard that I barely got away from the wreck field before pirates arrived and he wishes them eradicated (Clearly he does not share the [good] Sister's distaste for Acts of Violence).
I warp in at range, rather than direct to the [point], and find three Blood cartel ships, who decide to aggress me. No sooner have I disabused them of the [concept], and returned them to the Eternal, than others arrive -- 2 waves of them, and also hostile. As the last dies, the CONCORD officer asks me to retrieve some cargo that one has dropped. Prudently, I also see to salvaging what I can from my enemies' wrecks, although I leave the battelships alone. The cargo pod turns out to hold a datacore, which I drop into my hold. My [scanalyser] reports that it has an [unknown/foreign] interface which means that I cannot learn that data it may hold. A shame, as I would have liked to broaden my studies. He takes it from me, pays me, and adds a 24K bonus for quick work.
He has also located Sister [Kharitania]'s contact -- but he has already left the immediate area. I am askked to track him down, and find *more* pirates. I destroy them, and find the corpse of a man, dressed in the traditional red shirt of his profession. I also find a worrying warning -- one of the Blood raider ships was carrying a warp disrupter :: a device with which I am not equipped to cope. had they used it, my manoeuvering [scope] would have been [severely inhibited]. I return to the agent with the redshirt, take my pay, and am gratified when, as well as a 10K bonus for speed, he also pays me 36K in CONCORD bounties on the pirates. He suggests that I return to Sister [Kharitania]. IN truth, I find the idea of the sleep I can get at her station to be the chief [driving force], but I agree.
I check in with her and she (or CONCORD -- the two seem curiously intertwined) pay me a small reward, before I excuse myself on account of needing sleep. I also visit the [chapel] again, to settle my mind from the [frenzies] I have seen. Just before sleep, my OmniCom notifies me that the CONCORD agent has sent me another 22K in bounties, and 34K to persuade me to talk further to the Sister.
We shall see what the morrow brings.
